Give us thine smiles back

Give our children the reason to smile
give them the hope to shine and rise
will you give them their little light back?
why have you hushed their voices?
why take their life in thy hands?
thou has bereaved, thou has killed
the naive, the charming people
some live as fugitives; homeless; no bread
some lurking in their homes with fear
awaits the peace to prevail again
see that child smiling over there?
seems to be full of life and spirit
just needs a caring hand for his dreams
he shall read and play and strive
to become a reason of hope one day

in the house of God i sat
Far from the world of man to
give my soul a lasting solace
and i cried and i cried and and i prayed
in the corner of the chamber sat
a boy exactly of my age
his head in a bow his eyes red
and he cried and he cried and he prayed
i know him he is a cousin of mine
he leads a joly and a dreamers life; but now
i don’t know why he was craying;  for his dead mother?
i don’t know what he was praying:  for his misled dreams?
but he cried and he cried and he prayed
then i met him and taught him lessons of love
to be bold and fortune will be thine
but soon i heard that he has left his home
his father had smaked him and he ran away far
since then he was never seen
some said he has lost his mind
then one day i met him; an anguish soul
he was never the same; a jolly fellow or plain
he was messed up and talked jibrish
to me he said hello there whats your name
then i made my way to the house of God
oh, lord what a misterous world for man
how does his creature make it less great
a helping hand was all he needed for his wound
but the world is selfish enough
for the dreamers and enchanted souls
a living so harsh; only self intersts and ego
are their directions to go round

The Emphasis of Headgear in Islam

Posted by ink in February 26, 2009

Keeping a Topi is an essential part of the Sunnah (code of conduct) for men. It provides a sense of identity for a Muslim, in his appearance as a follower of Islam.

The aspect of the Topi for men can be compared with that of Pardah (veil) for woman in Islam. As women are required to observe Pardah in and outside the house, however different in its way while at home or out _ by which she produces the effect of modesty and a symbol of protection in her outlook. Likewise, men are bestowed with the observance of wearing a Topi as an essential accessory with their dress, whereby he distinguishes himself from the nonbelievers and renders respect and integrity in his social posture.

In 1905, when Allama Iqbal left for Britain for higher education, he would wear the English Hat as was the social norm by the educated class in those days.

One day when buying a cigarette from a Muslim shopkeeper. He told him that he was also a Muslim. The shopkeeper, however paying no heed replied with an inquisitive look that why then he was wearing a hat. “Does Islam perish with the hat?” Iqbal justified. “But how can then one recognize a Muslim if he shaves his beard and does not wear a Turkish Topi!” the shopkeeper replied. This, Iqbal considered, as an undeniable fact and became more indulgent in conversation with the shopkeeper. Later on other co religious persons gather around them and all of a sudden an eastern gathering was created in that Cigarette shop.

What a day-or what an adorable and enthralling hours we had today.

In the merriment of Inayat’s success in his exams (B.Pharmacy) we(Inayat, Arshid, Pir Adil, Fawad, Ismail, shahid and me) celebrated with him and set out for a trip to SARDARIAB in pir adeels car.
It was dusk when we reached there and the scenery we all witnessed there will remain in our memory for the rest of our life. The Sunset, the lake, the rocks, the hills, the forest all were making up an enchanted influence n us . We stood upon the rocks, admired the scenery with great affection and then some of us offered the Maghreb prayers overlooking the magnificent scenery.

We all called it “The Place of our Dreams”. Indeed it was no less then it. They all sorted into their own groups or pairs and i was following them rather on my own. I was very much moved by that ambiance and made me feel somewhat gloomy as if there was some sadness eminating from the twilight. But at the same time it was a piece of heaven. The moon was exactly overhead. The sky was clear and a gushy cool wind was howling.

In short this was my first account of nature at its best. It was like in heaver for a while. A joy unequal to anything i could imagine.
Perishing from the “Dream Land” we went to a hotel and ate Kabab then back home after buying icre-creams and cold drinks at Spin Jumat. It was about 9:30 that we reached home.
